Geneva Cricket Club is the oldest cricket club in Switzerland, founded by J.B.Heath on 16 April 1872. Between 1886 and 1897 it even had its own cricket ground, provided by a wealthy Englishman, Mr. Barton.
Today, where the ground was is now occupied by villas and appartment blocs.

The club was dissolved during the first world war but reactived in 1952 where we played at Stade de Richmonde sharing the ground with the hockey players. Back in 1973 there were just three teams in Geneva: Geneva CC, CERN CC and the Indian Association.

Geneva played all friendly games and most of their cricket was against visiting teams from England (the pound was worth Fr 10), RAF teams that were based in Germany. Geneva also travelled to play in Paris and Milan where they had the pleasure to play against Ted Dexter who was playing for the opposition.

Another famous cricketer the club had the honour to play against was Glenn Turner the New Zeland cricketer when he came over with a visiting team from England – the good old days!

The club has been on tours to Kenya, twice to Barbados, Germany, Luxembourg, Spain, Holland and several tours to the U.K.

Geneva Cricket Club now play their cricket at the Stade de Bout de Monde in champel. The ground was provided by the Geneva Sports Authorities in 199. A big thank you for their support.
