The Federal Council imposed maximum limit of fifteen participants per event has effected the start of the official Swiss cricket season, but it hasn't necessarily prevented cricket from being played.
In an effort to promote physical & mental well-being of cricketers in Switzerland, Cricket Switzerland created a Protection Concept template (available in German, French & English) that clubs can submit to their local sport facility owners and/or cantonal department for sport, in order to gain approval to play 6-a-side cricket matches - an obvious extension to current training sessions.
The protection concept has been created to protect and ensure the health & safety of players & their families alike, in line with the current Covid-19 corona virus restrictions.
Central to the concept are adherence to the Federal Council requirements, including the hygiene, distance and mask regulations of the FOPH and the track & trace rules. But additionally, an important aspect is to ensure that no-one participating has been infected by the Covid-19 virus, regardless whether they are displaying symptoms or are asymptomatic, by the introduction of self testing before a match.
In Switzerland Covid-19 corona virus self testing kits (five kits for free on the production of your health insurance card) are available from all high street chemists and online.
