Dear Members of Cricket Switzerland,

I hope you all are safe and healthy.

I am writing to you to provide an update on the Cricket Switzerland senior competitions in view of the evolving Covid-19 situation.

With current restrictions in place at least until 8th of June, Cricket Switzerland has decided to extend its suspension of all official cricket until Monday 9th June. All fixtures scheduled for the month of May and first week of June now stand cancelled.

With a severely curtailed season in prospect (including non availability of grounds) and assuming cricket will indeed resume after 8th June (in all counties), Cricket Switzerland has come up with the following two proposals to ensure we have some cricket this season.

1. CSPL and Pickwick T20 to be played as knock out competitions
2. Pickwick T20 to be played in complete and cancel CSPL for 2020

We also have provided a 3rd preference wherein, if, owing to the current situation, your club wishes not to play any cricket this season.

Clubs are requested to provide their feedback  before 1st May.

Please note that these proposals on based on the assumption that cricket can resume in June. However, if there is a further delay to the start of the season, Pickwick Twenty20 will be given priority as it is a sponsored competition and the league committee will come up with an appropriate format (knock out or league phase) based on the availability of grounds and the time available to complete the season.

Keep healthy and be safe.

Kind Regards
Asvin Lakkaraju
