Geneva Tape-ball indoor tournament

Geneva Cricket Club will host the inaugural 8-a-side Geneva Tape-ball Indoor Cricket Tournament on Sunday 16th February between 10am & 7pm at Halle B, Bout-Du-Monde in Geneva.


Six teams split into two groups of three will participate in this 8-a-side, 8 overs per innings, indoor tape-ball tournament, with the winners of each group playing in a final to determine the winners.

The hosts Geneva, CERN CC and Haut Savoie CC will make up group A, while Geneva SL CC, Geneva XI Stars CC & Lyon CC will make up group B.

Match schedule

Every team plays two games in the groups and the winner of Group A & B will play the Final.


The fixtures are as follows:

Refreshment Break : 1 - 1.30pm

Match 5 2.30pm Winner of Match 1 vs HSCC
Match 6 3.30pm Winner of Match 2 vs Lyon CC.
Match 7 5pm FINAL: Winner of Group A vs Winner of Group B.

Tournament regulations

  • This is an 8-a-side tournament, so only 8 players can participate in a match. If you have more than 8 players, so you can rotate in sunbsequent matches.
  • A match consists of one 8 over innings per team
  • Cricket Switzerland Mr Pickwick rules apply, specifically for calculating run-rates, except a bouncer over the shoulder height will be a no ball.
  • Some special indoor rules for the runs will be apply.
  • Three 3 bowlers can bowl a maximum of 2 overs.
  • Team kit is mandatory or minimum trouser or T-shirt. Strictly no jeans.
  • Indoor sports-shoes are required.
  • A symbolic entry fee of Fr. 40.- will be charged.
  • A winners and runners-up trophy will be awarded.
  • Every team must provide the umpires and a scorer. 
  • Tape-ball cricket equipment will be provided by Geneva CC, but an abdominal guard is mandatory while batting and players must provide their own.

Snacks & refreshments

Snacks & refreshments will be provided throughout the day. Teams & spectators will be expected to provide their own lunch.

The emphasis of the tournament is to experience "Fun and Friendly cricket" and provide an opportunity for a pre-season get together facilitating a good understanding between clubs & players.

Geneva Cricket Club encourage players & spectators to bring along their families & friends to make this a truly memoriable day. There is no entry charge for spectators.
