Nomads CC started the season strongly and registered big victories in most of their games resulting in a massive boost to their net run rate. However, they came unstuck against
the defending champions St Gallen on a hot afternoon in Embrach, their only blemish in the PT20 league campaign, where they registered 7 victories out of the 8 games played. They have
topped the Eastern Division table and will play in the first semifinals on Sunday 24 August against the team from Western Division who qualifies in the second place.
Defending champions St Gallen CC, who are once again favourites for finals day showed their class and continued their unbeaten run for most part of the season. With strong batting and bowling performances they once again dominated the PT20 campaign until they surprisingly lost to Swiss United CC affecting their chance to top the table. Despite qualifying in the second position they will be once again the team to watch out and will play the winners of the Western Division group in the second semi-final.
Geneva CC slipped up just once in their campaign to win the western division and qualify for the semi-finals for the third year in row, this year in top spot. They will want to
take the next step into the finals on Sunday 25th August when they face eatern division runners-up St Gallen CC.
Last year's finalists Berne CC were assured of the qualification with weeks to spare after reaching 9 points from 6 games but had to be content with second place. Berne CC will look to make use of the home ground advantage and get their hands on the trophy.
Up to the semi-finals, the statistics for this year's Mr Pickwick Twenty20 League make impressive reading.
