Apéro with Cricket World Cup nations

On Friday 29th June 2019, selected members of Cricket Switzerland attended an apéro at the British Ambassador's residence in Berne to mark the 2019 Cricket World Cup being hosted in England & Wales and celebrate the UK's commonwealth & Swiss ties.

In attendance was HM Ambassador Jane Owen, representatives from other embassies and international organisation and Sandra Felix, head of sports policy and resource division at the Bundesamt für Sport (BASPO), along with selected members of the Swiss cricket fraternity, Adam Pratt, Yeti Sinh, Juli Pratt, Chris Lodge, Alexander Mackay, special guest Bob Barber, Paul Cawsey and Ruwan Jayakody.

In her address to the attendees, HM Ambassador Jane Owen spoke of the importance of trade relations between all the countries present and the special relationship each have with the UK and the link between all the countries through cricket.

Sandra Felix (Head of Sports Policy and Resource Division at the Bundesamt für Sport (BASPO)) was awarded an international Cricket Switzerland cricket cap and a domestic Swiss league cricket ball.
