The Chairman of the Warsaw Hussars Cricket Club has invited a Swiss side to participate in the 5th Annual Natives Cup.
The tournament, open to native born & speaking people of their country of birth & residence, will take place on the last weekend of July (27-28.7.2019) in the Warsaw suburban area.
"The event will be the key part of celebrating the Hussars’ 5th birthday. It will be our utmost pleasure if you could attend and help grow native cricket in continental Europe. The idea of the tournament from the very beginning is to to give all players who have learned the game of cricket in their native countries an opportunity to play against each other. This ensures a level playing field for all involved. It is also a perfect opportunity to compare notes and learn from each other", states Marcin Łojewski.
It is planned to set up 7-a-side games, 10 overs per innings with specific rules (including balls which will be used to play) discussed among participating teams.
The entry fee is planned to be maximum of €240 per team. This may be decreased if a greater number of teams participate.
The package will include:
• 2 days of cricket
• Chance to meet people who share your passion
• Social evening
• Good playing conditions
• Transport to/from the ground
• Fair umpiring and scoring
• Team and individual awards for the players
Meals for game days can be provided subject to an additional payment (to be discussed with interested teams).
Marcin Łojewski adds, "We would love to have you here. Of course we are ready to help you with logistics around Warsaw and would be happy to reply to all your questions regarding the tournament so feel free to contact us!".
