Summary of new laws

Swiss Federation Of Cricket Umpires & Scorers

The Swiss Federation Of Cricket Umpires & Scorers (sFOCUS) has summarised all the new laws that came into affect from the beginning of the 2018 year in a memo to all members of the Cricket Switzerland umpiring panel ahead of the season.

The memo reminds all umpires that at the end of 2017 the laws of cricket underwent some major re-tuning, probably most importantly the introduction of on-field penalties, which is hoped will improve player behavior across the game.

To help identify the applicable to Swiss limited over cricket, a short summary has been produced and it is hoped that in the coming weeks there will be a recording of this being presentation.

Specifically with regards to player behavior Cricket Switzerland also published the “Code Of Behaviour” on the Cricket Switzerland website. This article and the Code Of Conduct is to be used by neutral umpires as a guide when judging warnings, penalty runs and on field suspensions.

It is also recommend that all umpires read the changes as explained in detail in a document available on the Lord’s website, the 2018 CSPL rules & regulations and the 2018 PT20 rules & regs.
