At the 2018 Annual General Meeting, the Association  Genevoise de Cricket (AGC) was accepted as an affiliate member of cricket Switzerland.

The AGC is not a playing club and will not submit a team to play in any of the domestic competitions, so who are the AGC, what is its purpose?

Association Genevoise de Cricket

The purpose of the Association Genevoise de Cricket (Geneva Cricket Association in English) is to promote, organise and develop the game of cricket in the Geneva region. It aims at bringing together all local clubs to build up a stronger future for cricket aficionados, whether young or old!
Darius Rao, President and inspiration behind this new association said: "being members of Cricket Switzerland is a first and very important step for us."
According to Darius, they have also applied for membership to the Association Genevoise des Sports (AGS), which is the umbrella organisation of sports association in the canton of Geneva. "It will bring proper recognition by the local authorities... another important stage". Darius added that the "following stages are the most important ones: we want to advocate for better cricket facilities, give more opportunities to the youth, create new cantonal tournaments, and support clubs in their various endeavours!".

The AGC's first event will be to organise & run the Geneva T20 Cup on 14-15 April 2018, bringing Geneva's finest cricketers together in this pre-season tournament at the Bout-du-Monde sports centre.
