Women's Cricket in Switzerland
Zurich Sapphires CC in Vienna 2016

As the  World  celebrates Women's day today, Cricket Switzerland would also like to applaud the women who have changed the face of Women's Cricket in Switzerland.
It is so true when they say women can multi-task, because Cricket is that one sport that requires an all-round engagement, in the number of skills displayed: batting, bowling, catching, throwing, running and appealing :-)

The enthusiasm, skill and the commitment that they show is the true example of the continued existence of Zürich Sapphire CC. Looking up to great Cricketers such as Ellyse Perry , Mithali Raj and and Karuna Jain, it would be impossible not to be inspired. As we reflect back on Season 2016, the Vienna Tournament was a true example of growing women Cricketers around Europe and a reassurance that it is one Sport that reaches across boundaries of gender, race and class.

Cricket Switzerland would like to take this opportunity to Thank some key  women who have played a significant and vital role in putting Women's Cricket on the Cricket map in Switzerland:

  • Sejal Patel                    Vice-President of Zurich Sapphires
  • Jennfier Hallam           Captain of Zürich Sapphires
  • Ushma Patel                Treasurer of Zürich Sapphires
  • Naseem Shamsher     Secreatry of Zürich Sapphres
  • Jenny Pazhenkotil       Vice- Captain of Zürich Sapphires
