The last outdoor event of the year is the Romande Cup, and this year the U11 event was hosted at Cossonay on Saturday 30th September 2017 and saw three teams play a 20 over competition for the cup.
The weather started bright and dry, and a quick outfield saw good value for the shots. Unfortunately the last match had to be abandoned after 3.1 overs of ZCCC’s run chase with the heavens opening. Using a points system (or the head to head), ZCCC were awarded the cup with Cossonay second and Gingins third. Some great cricket was seen, especially the fielding with a number of direct hits. Congratulations to Zurich and thanks to Cossonay for hosting.
Cossonay 89 all out (Ryan 7, Conner 5; Harry 1-3, Zack 1-3) bt Gingins 46 all out (Will 12, Kai 3; Nevzad 2-1, Ryan 2-3) by 43 runs
Zurich Crickets 132-6 (Sasha 22*, Shankar 17; Tom 2-14, Vignesh 1-19) bt Cossonay 97-6 (Ryan 16, Conner 13; Andreas 2-4, Sasha 1-6) by 35 runs
Match abandoned: Zurich Crickets U11 26-0 (Sasha 8*, Shankar 8*) after 3.1 ovs vs Gingins U11 79 all out (Kai 19*, Will 8; Danyal 3-18, Avneet 1-4) (DLS par score: 7 runs)
