Geneva XI Stars CC 448-10 (39.3 overs) beat Rhône CC 115-10 (21.0 overs) by 333 runs
Geneva XI Stars set a new highest innings CSPL record by scoring 448 ao in 39.3 overs at Onex on Sunday 7th May 2017.
Geneva XI Stars won the toss and elected to bat on what is admittedly one of the higher scoring grounds in Switzerland. But take nothing away from the XI Stars, this was no mean feat.
Geneva XI Stars CC captain Raja Hafeez led the charge scoring 153 before being bowled by the second of the Rhône opening bowlers Ajay Iyer.
And all of the rest of the team contributed too, of note: Amandeep Singh (42); Ali Malik (79); Lalit Dubey (40); Vipin Parthran (23) and Asghar Ali (32).
Their opponents, Rhône CC, from neighbouring Lyon in France, & newcomers to the Swiss league this season, were set a required run rate of 11.34 but managed only 115 ao in reply, handing a win to XI Stars of 333 runs.
Asad Shah took 2 wickets in his first over to put the game physcologically at least beyond the visitors. Rhône CC were bowled out for 115 runs, Remo Sundar (46) was one of only three Rhône players to score double figures.
