CSPL Final preview

(Sunday 1st October 2017 at Deutweg, Winterthur)

On Sunday 1st October the 2017 Cricket Switzerland Premier League (CSPL) final will take place at Deutweg Cricket ground in Winterthur.

Cricket Switzerland Premier League

In a repeat of last year's final, Olten CC will take on Zurich Nomads beginning at 12 noon. On that occasion Nomads won, but this year Olten have already won some silverware in 2017 when they beat St Gallen by 6 wickets in the Swiss Mr Pickwick Twenty20 Competition. Can they become just the third club to win the domestic double?

This season Nomads finished top of the table in the qualification stages and went on to beat Geneva International & Power to qualify for the final. Olten meanwhile only finished in fourth place in the qualification phase, but came through against favourites Geneva at Bout du Monde by the slimmest of margins and then St Gallen in the semi-final.

We thank Power Cricket for hosting the final this season, for making the catering arrangements and organising the logistics required for such a prestigious match. And we welcome Mr. Hannes Tschudin from the Sportamt Winterthur who shall  award the winning trophy this afternoon. The support from Sportamt Winterthur for junior & senior cricket leads the way in the east of the country, without which cricket wouldn’t be able to continue the year on year growth and improvement witnessed in recent years.

Get yourself along to Deutweg to watch the last game of the season, but failing that, follow the live texts & scores or cricHQ!
