Switzerland have entered two teams into the 6-a-side international women's tournament organised by the Austrian Cricket Association in
Vienna, Austria, on 27th & 28th August 2016.
Where teams have less, teams can be mixed to accommodate the players to give them an opportunity to play and enjoy the game.
Matches will start on the morning of Saturday 27th August and the competition expected to go on until 4.30pm on Sunday 28th August.
A fixture list will be provided prior to the competition.
The following teams have already confirmed their participation in the tournament:
Matches will be played at Markomannen Strasse 7, 1220 Vienna, Austria, easily accessible by public transport.
Nearest Underground ( U1 ) stop is at Kagraner Platz.
Accommodation is the responsibility of each team. It is recommended to look for accommodation near Kagraner Platz or any U1 stop.
The tournament organisers would be available to help in arranging accommodation to suit all budgets.
It is recommended to arrive in Vienna on Friday evening to allow for sufficient time and rest.
Fixtures will be arranged in favour of those arriving on Saturday morning.
To allow enough time to get to the airport after the tournament, flights after 8pm are recommended.
Lunch and Drinks will be provided at the ground by the ACA on both days.
Additionally teams and officials will be invited to a tournament dinner on Saturday 27th August (details to follow).
There is expected to be a big mix of players, some will be playing for the first time. The goal of the tournament is to provide girls with the opportunity to play cricket and gain experience.
The tournament requires playing with white clothing or clothing which is predominantly white (at a minimum the shirts).
The tournament will use red and pink 142 gram cricket balls of the same brand.
Kit ( bats, pads, etc.) is up to each team to supply their own.
Prize distribution for the winners and participating teams will be held on Sunday 28th August at the end of the tournament.
The Austrian Cricket Association will provide Umpires and Scorers for each match.
There is no competition fee for the tournament.
