Geneva Int'l CC 160-10 (20 overs) lost to Geneva XI Stars CC 161--3 (14.2 overs) by 7 wkts
Geneva XI Stars continued their attacking brand of cricket and comfortably won their second Pickwick CupT20 game played against GICC by 7 wickets.
Home team GICC won the toss and dicided to bat first. XI Stars found their first success in the form of GICC captain, Habib Choudhary, who nicked the first ball of Aamir Ali only to be caught by skipped Kuldeep for a golden duck. Aamir and Kuldeep combination struck once again in the next over when Amar was caught behind leaving GICC in trouble. Balaji next walked in and he immediately looked in good touch and clearing the fence easily at regular intervals. He went onto score a valiant 77 and was ably supported by Sethuraman who scored a well-made 34. GICC ended their innings on 160 losing their final wicket on the last ball of 20th over. For XI Stars Asghar was the most successful bowler with 3 wickets and Aamir Ali picked up two.
After a short break of 10 minutes, XI Stars began the chase in style scoring at a run rate of more than 10 per over. Vipin continued his form and scored a quick fire 31 off just 14 balls. Homayun on the other hand was once again batting sensibly by rotating strike. At the fall of Vipins wicket, LalitDubey walked in and took the game by scruff of the neck and attacked GICC bowling in a spectacular fashion.He remained not out on 68 off just 33 balls that included 7 massive sixes.Despite losing two more wickest Geneva XI Stars overhauled the target in just 14.2 overs and in the process registered a massive victory.
Geneva XI Stars will next play against CERN CC in a CSPL game on 29 May. GICC on the other hand will play their next game on 5 June against Geneva XI Stars once again and this time in CSPL.
