In an all-Swiss final Zurich-Nomads beat Geneva XI Stars to win the 2016 International Cricket Festival in Zuoz (11-12.6.2016).
Day one in the alpine region of the Grisons in Switzerland was a wet & cold, but there were wins for three of the four Cricket Switzerland teams on day one of the Zuoz Cricket Festival.
The conditions were so precipitous that only 4 of the scheduled eight games on day one were possible.
Zurich Nomads, Geneva XI Stars & Geneva SL CC all won their first round matches.
Round two of the tournament was delayed until Sunday (day 2) when conditions had significantly improved. Zurich Nomads beat Milan in their semi-final, while XI Stars came out on top in an all-Geneva semi-final against their neighbours GSLCC. It was Zurich Nomads that came out victors in the all-Swiss final.

Cricket has been played at the Lyceum for over ninety years and the school pitches, at almost 1800m above sea level, are thought to be the highest in Europe. The air is thinner (only 80% of the oxygen compared to sea level) and the UV is intense - so sun cream, hats, sun glasses and a cricket jumper are all a must!
