The Mr Pickwick Cricket Twenty20 Cup is the only national Twenty20 cricket league competition and continues to grow from strength to strength each season.

From its introduction in 2004 as a 35 over knock out knockout competition, the Mr Pickwick Cricket Twenty20 competition has continually involved & improved. The tournament was converted to a T20 National championship in 2012 and it began in a spectacular fashion similar to the famous IPL in India, with Power CC racking up a massive 235-4 in the opening match.

Later that year the tournament produced its first winner: Winterthur CC, who won the finals day in a thrilling game that went to the wire, eventually coming out winners by 3 wickets.

2013 saw the best ever final played between Berne CC and Cossonay CC which ended up in a tie. 2014 saw Nomads CC dismantling every team that came in its path to win the championship convincingly.

2015 version is once again expected to be tightly contested with traditional powerhouses of Swiss cricket and younger teams all put on equal keel because of the unpredictable nature of Twenty20 cricket.

40 over league

Cricket Switzerland

The 40 over league is Cricket Switzerland's premier domestic competition.
The origins of a cricketing league in Switzerland can be traced to 1996, replacing the then knockout competition, and has evolved into a very competitive & prestigious competition. Any cricketer on Swiss domestic circuit would vouch that it is the most important tournament they play in.
The 40 over league is traditionally organized into western and eastern divisions, with the top two teams from the league phase of each division qualifiying for the semifinals. The winners of the division retain home right for these games and the final is traditionally played at Cossonay CC, which is also the home ground for the Swiss National Team.

Berne Cricket Club, one of the oldest cricket clubs in Switzerland, has won the coveted championship 6 times of a total of 18 and was runners up on another 6 occasions. Apart from Berne CC, in recent years, semi-finals scenario has been dominated by Olten CC, Geneva XI Stars CC and Power CC. Nomads Cricket Club, another power house in cricket in Switzerland had a lean patch from 2009-2013 but last year returned with a bang to win the championship.

Unlike big international tournaments where most of the finals somehow are an anti-climax, Swiss cricket is known to produce some of the best cricket and thrilling finals. Finals in the last few years have led to many a supporter skipping a heart beat.

2015 once again is expected to produce similar high quality contests observed in previous years.

Cricket Switzerland offers financial rewards for the winners & runners-up and has constantly attracted the best 12 teams from across the country every year.
