WCC end Pickwick campaign with win

Winterthur prevailed in a battle to move away from the bottom of the table with a convincing victory over Berne CC in Winterthur on Sunday 26th July. 

Berne won the toss and decided have a bat on a beautiful sunny day but were soon in trouble losing their skipper Tissa de Zoyasa in the very first over. Good lines from Winterthur CC bowler prevented Berne from moving out of the third gear and resulted in 71 runs off the first 10 overs. In a bid to accelerate in the last 10 overs, Berne lost wickets and with it the momentum and finished their innings on an under par score of 120 runs in their allocated 20 overs.

After a quick break Winterthur set about chasing the modest total and managed to secure an impressive win by overhauling the target in just 11.1 overs and only for the loss of one wicket.
