Power continues winning streak

Power 207-3 (20 overs) defeated Berne 186-7 (20 overs) by 21 runs

Sportpark Deutweg, Winterthur - Sunday 26th July 2015

Change in the opponent did not bring any respite in the fortunes of Berne CC as they lost to Power by just 21 runs at Deutweg on Sunday 26th July 2015.

In the last match of the day Berne CC won the toss against Power and this time around decided to chase. Known for their big hitting throughout the competition, Power immediately started the game on front foot by attacking Berne CC. A first wicket partnership of 61 off just 6 overs suggested that run fest was on cards and indeed Power did not disappoint its supporters. They continued their attacking batting and amassed a huge score of 207/3 in their allocated 20 overs. After the break, Berne decided to give the chase a good go as they had nothing to lose by then. Berne batted with liberated spirits and scored 97 of first 10 overs. With just over a 100 to get in the last 10 overs, it was game on and they were generously helped by poor catching from Power. The pressure of the chase however proved too much for the inexperienced Berne middle and they managed to muster 187 in the allocated 20 overs falling short by mere 20 runs.

Power CC will now face Olten CC in a virtual quarterfinal, with the winner qualifying for the semifinals.
