Nomads CC pull of their first victory of the Pickwick Cup 2015 campaign in a hard fought game at Berne.

Winning the toss, Nomads captain Sangam had no hesitation in deciding to field.

Bern CC opener Farhan began the innings in an enterprising fashion getting 10 runs of the first over bowled by Farid. However, the momentum did not last long and Malik was trapped lbw by Abid on the other end. This followed by quick loss of Farhan brought in a passage of game where Berne tried to attack and in process lost quick wickets and at one stage were 60/6 and in danger of getting all out for a below par score.

An enterprising partnership between Aseem (32) and young Qadeer (26) resulted in Berne collecting 45 runs of last 5 overs and ended on 104/9 in the allocated 20 overs, a good score on a difficult batting wicket. For Nomads, Abid, Wicky and Shafqat picked up 2 wickets a piece.

After a quick break of 10 min, Nomads set about chasing the target and got of to a bad start losing Shafqat in the first over. Good bowling from Berne left Nomads reeling at 40/5 of 7 overs, and in danger of falling apart in the chase.

However, Man of the Match, Faheem Nazir and Kamran Idrees had other ideas and set about building a partnership and in the process punished any loose offerings from Berne. With their help, Nomads reached the target in 17.4 overs and in process ensured a good victory in difficult circumstances.
For Berne, Umer SHaiq was the most successful bowler with 3 wickets followed by Farhan who took 2 wickets.

Nomads now move to second place in the table with 2 points and Berne CC, having played only one game is yet to open their account.
