Olten CC defeated Berne CC in an Eastern Division CSPL game played at Obergosgen by 5 wickets, continuing their unbeaten run which puts them on the cusp of the semi-finals.
Winning the toss, Berne CC had no hesitation to bat first on the new surface at Olten. They soon found themselves in trouble losing skipped Tissa to Shane Fletcher. This brought in Aneesh, who along with Vasan set about building a partnership. They put on 70 runs for the second wicket before Vasan got out to Sheeraz. Aneesh on the other hand kept on playing sensibly and extended his levers from time to time clearing the fence. He scored a magnificent 90; ten runs short of what would have been a very well deserved 100. Aseem and Manju ably supported him in the middle overs by chipping in with 20s. Berne CC finished on 227/9 in their allocated 40 overs. For Olten CC, Satish was the most successful bowler picking up 3 wickets followed by Sheeraz who picked up two.

After a well-deserved tea break on a hot day, Olten set about chasing 227.  Jaso set the tone of the chase by a quick fire 21 in an opening partnership of 25 before being snapped up by Dilojan.  Shahid on the other hand was patient and set about his job as sheet anchor for the team. Arrival of Murali at number 3 kept the run rate going. He played adventurous cricket punishing any ball that was loose. He scored a magnificent 84 before losing his wicket to Aseem. However, the damage was already done especially considering the 125 run partnership for the second wicket. Shahid remained not out on 79 and ensured that there were no hiccups in the chase. Olten achieved the target in 37.2 overs with 5 wickets in hand. For Berne CC, Aseem was the most successful bowler with 3 wickets.

This victory puts Olten on the brink of semi finals in the CSPL Eastern Division.
