It is with great sadness that we share with the Swiss cricketing community the news that Peter MacLaverty† died on Wednesday 6th August at 3.15pm aged 70 years (27.7.1944 –
6.8.2014)
Peter lost his battle against a serious illness this week, but will remembered fondly by all that new him. Entrepreneur, passionate cricketer, squash player and golfer, Peter was involved in the inaugural meeting of the association in 1980 and was an inspiration to all that played cricket with him and worked with him on the executive and at meetings over the many years he was involved - and for which he received a Services to Cricket Award in 2012
Renowned for his stright talking, Peter enriched our lives with his enthusiasm, commitment and unique northern Irish wit.
The funeral will take place in the Chapel at the Dreifaltigkeit-Kirche, Taubenstrasse 12, 3011 Bern, Switzerland on Monday 18th August at 3.30pm followed by post-funeral reception.
No flowers please. If you wish to pay an alternative tribute please send donations to the Krebsliga Bern or
Macmillan Cancer Support.
Our deepest sympathies and thoughts are with his wife Sarah, daughter Katharine and family.
