Newcomers St Gallen continued to apply pressure on the Eastern division leaders Nomads & Olten with a close victory over last year's runners-up Berne Cricket Club.

St Gallen recovered from 1-3 to finish 220-ao, 5 balls short of their allotted 40 overs. Berne fell 18 runs short being bowled out for 202 with just 4 overs left to play.

Meanwhile Olten consolidated second place with a convincing 5 wicket victory over Winterthur, leaving Winterthur still looking for their first victory this campaign.

In the western division Geneva XI Stars took top spot with an easy 64 run win over neighbours Geneva International.

Next weekend could prove vital in the McGee's 40 over league competition. Nomads travel to Winterthur and need a win to ensure they retain top spot, while Power travel to Gründenmoos. St Gallen will need to secure another win in order to have a realistic chance of qualifying for the semi-finals.
And in the west, Geneva International host Cossonay, the winner of which is likely to go top of the division.
