Joint Luncheon with the British Residents’ Association of Switzerland,
The Royal British Legion and The Royal Air Forces Association
Saturday 25th October,
Aperitifs 11.45am, Lunch 12.30pm
Kongresshaus (Concert Hall), Vortragssaal, Gotthardstrasse 5, Zürich
The British Residents' Association pay tribute to the work of the Royal British Legion and the armed forces throughout the world and the difficult tasks they face, that we may live in peace and security. There will be Display Tables showing the work and mission of the Royal British Legion and the Royal Air Forces Associations. Both organisations are much involved in helping those who suffer as a result of combat and are in need of help. Many are left in financial straits, unable to find employment as a result of their wounds, facing marital breakdown, and require counselling. The work of the RBL and the RAFA fill a vital role, and can make all the difference to broken lives.
We are delighted to welcome, as our Guest Speaker, Brigadier Daniel Laetsch, Head of the General Staff College of the Swiss Army, and a leading Strategist of the Swiss Ministry of Defence. Brigadier Laetsch is a graduate in general and military history.
The subject of his illustrated talk will be:
1914 – 2014: putting the First World War into the context of the present day
We offer a three course lunch with vegetarian alternative, one glass of red or white wine, mineral water and coffee at CHF 70 for members, CHF 80 non members. Aperitifs at own cost.
A raffle will be held to cover incidental expenses and we are grateful for your contributions.
