From 1st - 2nd February 2014, T20 International worked in partnership with Swiss Cricket & Basel Dragons Junior Cricket, to plan and run an elite U11s weekend camp.
Boys from 5 clubs in Switzerland attended, looking to hone their skills alongside the other elite players of their age.
Switzerland U11s will be playing multiple fixtures in early 2014, building up to their 3rd tour of the UK in June. And this year, they are likely to be more successful than ever!
The twenty-two boys who registered were put through their paces, with an intense series of drills, personal coaching, match awareness and gameplay. By the end, both coaches were amazed by
the collective effort and progress made, thanks to their hard work!
Not only had each and every boy improved an aspect of their game, but the squad had become truly united over the 2 action-packed days. Names had been learnt and friends had been made across club lines. The result was a team spirit that is vital for the boys as they grow up in the Swiss set-up for years to come.
And this year, they are likely to be more successful than ever!
The coaches and managers were delighted to see, and work alongside with, two dozen of the country’s brightest young stars. Not only was the strength of talent so deep, but it was broader than ever as well!! One of the most encouraging observations from the course were the number of different clubs producing skilled players.
Zurich, Basel, Geneva and Cossonnay were represented healthily during the weekend, giving the camp a true national feel.
