Swiss Mr. Pickwick T20 Cricket Cup
Dear SCA Associate & Affiliate Members
As discussed and agreed at the SCA Council Meeting on Saturday 2nd March 2013, in order to continue to evolve the competition, the Swiss Mr. Pickwick T20 Cricket Cup takes on a new and exciting format in 2013.
This format is as follows:
- Regional groups play-off (round-robin) for qualification to semi-finals
- This guarantees a minimum number of games (2 if three teams in a group; 5 if six teams in a group)
- Size of groups to be defined once participating teams are known
- Prize money: CHF1'000 winners, CHF500 Runners-up, CHF250 3rd place
- Match day officials and cricket balls will be supplied by the tournament organizers
- FINAL: Trophies, ground fees, lunches, balls, VIP hosting financed through sponsorship/donations.
In order to assist in financing this new format a competition fee of CHF150 per club will be levied.
If your club would like to participate in this exciting new-look Pickwick Cup, please notify the Competitions Chairman at your earliest
convenience (at the latest by 15.3.2013) and ensure that the CHF150 entrance fee is credited to the SCA bank account before 31st March 2013. Note: This
competition is open to associate and affiliate members.
A draw to decide the number of groups and respective home rights will be announced in due course. Participating clubs will be responsible for arranging their own matches (as in the league), but are encouraged to hold more than one game per day.
We are expecting the majority of the clubs to participate, therefore the proposed group structure is designed to minimise travel requirements for both teams and officials.
