On Monday 1st April, the day the Swiss Cricket transfer window closed, it has been revealed that Winterthur's Swiss International Vaibhav Singh has agreed terms with Western division competitor's Cossonay Cricket Club in what has been rumoured to be the largest transfer deal in Swiss Cricket history.
The actual sum has not been disclosed by either club, nor by Vaibhav Singh's agent, but it is believed that Vaibhav was wooed away from Winterthur Cricket Club with a four year contact at EPFL in Lausanne making up part of the deal.
In a statement to swisscricket.ch Vaibhav said, "I had an exciting time at WCC, and would cherish the memories of the various competitions & social events. I wish WCC all the best for the new season".
Vaibhav's rise to stardom has been quick. Just last year he made his debut for Switzerland during the national side's tour to VRA Amsterdam in Holland and was key in Winterthur winning the Swiss Cricket Mr. Pickwick T20 Cup in 2012.
In other transfer news, after protracted negotiations, another Swiss International, Sudath Jayaratne, has joined Geneva XI Stars Cricket Club on a free transfer.
Further information on this and other transfer deals are available from the Swiss Cricket Association.
