In commemoration of Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee, Swiss Cricket and the British Residents' Association joined forces to stage a unique British atmosphere in the form of a family day of cricket action accompanied by English Tea at Sportpark Deutweg in Winterthur on Saturday 7th July 2012.
British & Commonwealth visitors to Switzerland, their friends & family, enjoyed a fun day out in a predominantly English speaking atmosphere with three cricket matches and traditional English teas.
The cricket began as early as 9.30am with the junior U9 and U11s, immediately followed by the U13 & U15s. After a group photo, there was a with a real English high tea with scones & cakes, and the e^day ended with a senior match from 2pm.
