On Saturday 21st April 2012, the Swiss Cricket Association will hold a cricket equipment Open Day at Discount Sports in Root (near Luzern).

The shop, usually only open by appointment only, will be open from 10am-12noon and again between 1-4pm.

Free snacks & refreshments will be available to all visitors, and in addition to being able to view cricket junior and senior cricket equipment such as bats, stumps, gloves & pads, from manufacturers such as Slazenger, Kookaburra, Gunn & Moore and Duncan Fearnley, and advice will also be available from visitors from around the country on helmets, types of cricket shoes and the caring of items, plus advice on how to set-up a club and become members of the Swiss Cricket Association.

Members of the the Swiss Cricket Association executive committee will also be present to discuss general cricket related issues and provide advice on forming a cricket club, including creating a club constitution and purchasing artificial cricket pitch from suppliers such as Notts Sports in the UK.


Additionally, SCA approved cricket balls for use in the SCA league & Swiss Cricket Mr. Pickwick Cup competitions will be available to clubs requiring them and thus avoid unnecessary postage costs.

Special discounts

In a special offer from Discount Sports, clubs & individuals will be offered a 20% discount on all orders made on the day.

And in addition to that, any club or individual ordering CHF500 or greater will receive a bonus cricket item worth over CHF100 (subject to availability).
