Tough Test for Swiss Under 13 Squad Touring to England in August

The Swiss Under 13 squad is gearing up for their upcoming tour to England in August. A squad of thirteen players has been selected. The team faces a gruelling schedule of eleven matches in six days beginning on Sunday 14th August in Charlbury, Oxfordshire.  After two Twenty20 matches and one 30-over match in the Oxford area, the team will transfer to Epsom College.

The Powerplay U13 International Cricket Festival in Epsom runs for four days. Eight teams will play each other once before the play-offs on the final day. The opposition will include several Academy teams as well as the county teams of East Berkshire and Dorset. The matches will all be a  Twenty20 format.

Under 13 players from across the country have been selected for this squad in a process that began at the beginning of the year at the indoor tournaments in Gingins. Squad members come from all the junior clubs in Switzerland: Basel Dragons CC (3), Cossonay CC (1), Gingins CC (4), Geneva Region Youth CC (1), Collège du Léman (1) and Zurich Crickets CC (3).

In addition to a number of newcomers, the team includes a good deal of experience, with four players from last year's team that toured so successfully to Denmark, two of whom have just returned from a successful international tour with the Swiss Under 15 squad, and two players regularly involved with the Swiss Colts that compete in the Swiss senior men's league.

We wish the squad well in the build-up to the tour in the coming weeks, and every success in England.
