On Saturday 6th October the Swiss Cricket Association organised a day of cricket for students of the University of St. Gallen.

Almost thirty students, all members of a University club called the Gateway to India, a student’s initiative at the University of St. Gallen founded in 1998 offering students different ways to discover India, listened to an introduction of cricket by Mr. Nitesh Gandhi and Mr. Pradeep Vijayadas.

Following a video presentation the students practiced some of the basic skills required in cricket during a outdoor training session, before playing a competitive match. A majority of the students were playing cricket for the first time and were thrilled, describing the day as "awesome".

The students rounded up the day with a delicious Indian meal later in the afternoon.

Photos of the event are available in the SCA gallery.
